Fun fact: I didn't go to school for marketing. Or writing. Or graphic design. Or any of the things most people think I *should* have to be pretty darn good at social media growth.

I actually went to school for sustainable agriculture...

I worked on a lot of farms. Milked a lot of cows. Forgot to close a lot of fences. Dealt with a LOT of problems. So I became acutely aware that strategic planning was only as reliable as your worst early-morning mistakes (& your most curious cow...).

And then I went to grad school for agricultural research. So I worked on even more farms. Did a lot of lab work. Took a lot of samples. Analyzed A LOT of statistics. So I became good at reading metrics, predicting trends, and discovering the 'why's' of growth and change.

In grad school, I spent a lot of time by myself. In my own head. With my own words and thoughts and ideas. So I got a freelance writing job. And then another. And another. So I became comfortable using my words to tell a story.

Those freelance writing jobs turned into press events. And speaking engagements. And celebrity interviews. And a strong desire to move to LA and write scripts for a living. So I became fascinated by people — their backgrounds, their struggles, their successes, their stories. And not just their stories, but how their stories are connected to everyone else's.

By using my words. By analyzing certain trends. By strategically planning what can go wrong. But also, what can go so, so right.

So, no, I didn't go to school for social media growth marketing, or content curating, or even storytelling.

But I have scaled my marketing agency to six-figures in just under six months. I have scaled my business so quickly that I hired a permanent employee to help me run everything. I have grown my clients social media accounts by two million followers in under five months. And I have been able to watch my clients double their monthly income, quit their full-time jobs, and book out for quarters in advance because of the strategies we’ve implemented together.
